Three bedrooms in the heart of Keswick.
Two minutes from Market Square · one minute from Fitz Park · easy reach of Derwentwater, Catbells, and Borrowdale. Sleeps 6.
Little Slate House is a three-bedroom Victorian cottage on a quiet residential street in Keswick — which means you step out of the front door and you're already in town. Market Square and the Moot Hall are two minutes' walk. Fitz Park and the River Greta are one.
The house sleeps six across three proper bedrooms: a king-size double, a double, and a third room that can be made up as twin singles or pushed together as a super-king. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove. There's a boot room with drying space — an essential rather than a luxury when you're coming back from Blencathra in November.
Derwentwater is twelve minutes' walk, the Keswick Launch boats leave from the north shore, and the path to Catbells starts across the lake at Hawse End. Latrigg is walkable from the edge of town. Borrowdale opens up four miles south. The house makes a good base whether you're here for the fells, the lake, or simply a few days in one of the better small towns in England.
People come to the Lake District and head straight for Windermere. Which is fine — but Keswick sits at the foot of Skiddaw, right between Derwentwater and the northern fells, with access to Borrowdale and Honister to the south and Blencathra to the east. It's a proper walking town with a good butcher, a decent farmers' market, and enough good cafes and pubs to make a rest day feel worthwhile.
The house is in town because we think being in town matters. You don't need a car to get a coffee in the morning or walk to the lake after dinner. Castlerigg Stone Circle is twenty minutes on foot. The walks start from the doorstep.
